I had the pleasure of hanging out with Miss V. again. She is a frequent visitor to my lens. This is our third shoot together. The occassion today is that Miss V. is expecting the arrival of Miss C. any day now (ok really any week now) but we wanted to get some shots of mommy before the new little one arrives. I bet you will be seeing more of Miss V. in the coming weeks. lol.

Here is the sneak peek from our hang out time today. Thanks so much for filling your “nothing going on today” day with our photo shoot. I think we got some awesome shots!

A six month old cutie!

February 22, 2009

She is adorable. There is no way around it. And she is happy, and very much loved. It was a joy to have miss A. and her mommy and daddy in my home today for our shoot.

I have giant windows at home so when we were discussing where to do our shoot, my home, as a studio, was a natural choice. The weather has been so unpredicable in the Bay Area lately.

Thanks for coming over today guys! It was really fun! And I am glad that it FINALLY worked out (long story!).

Here is your sneak peek. I can’t wait to get all of your images to you.

I officially launched my boudoir blog yesterday. The link is http://kristylynnphotography.com/boudoir. It is super easy, just the address for this blog but instead of blog it is boudoir. Be careful though, if you are looking for the family, kids, and portrait blog then you want to make sure not to type in boudoir, that will get you somewhere very different.

The blog is where I will be sneak peeking my boudoir sessions, and making announcements. It will also be a place where women can feel empowered to live life beautiful. To enjoy being a woman and to realize the fullness of the beauty each woman possesses. Any one can participate in these sessions, they are not just about being sexy, they are about being a lady. They are about expressing oneself as a beautiful woman. And they are about realizing how HOT you really are! So take a look if you like…. I would love to schedule a session with you!

And since I am keeping it all pg over on the regular blog (the other one is nothing more than R rated, I promise!), I am going to entertain you today with a storyboard I created of my baby boy. Did you know that you can order custom storyboard from me after your session. These are a great way to get multiple images up on your wall in only one frame! Acutally you can even order them mounted and then they don’t need a frame at all!

Without further ado, here is my cute boy. I can’t believe that he is already 15 months! CRAZY!!

Represent!

I am looking for some awesome soon to be high school seniors who want to be my ambassadors!

Everyone has seen the typical senior picture right? I remember mine. I wore one of those black wraps and had the cap and gown one. Oh, wait I think I even did one with the numbers ‘96. Oh, yeah that was creative. lol.

But in all seriousness when you are graduating from high school the images you create with your photographer should not only make you look AMAZING but they should be a true reflection of who you are.

So, here is what I am offering. I would like one or two representives from some of the surrounding highschools. I am specifically thinking of high schools in the Mt. Diablo, Walnut Creek, San Ramon/Tri-Valley, and Lamorinda areas. You will be a model for the day (and as a model, your session is free!) and then along with your print purchase (those are not free) you will receive REP cards (also free!) that you can use to pass out to your friends, to promote ME!

The best part of the deal for you is that for every person you “recruit” as a rep you will recieve a credit that can be cashed in at the end of the year as either more prints or as cold hard cash. Yeah thats right CASH in your pocket.

Interested or have questions, email me at kristy@kristylynnphotography.com by March 1, 2009. Tell me what high school you are going to graduate from and tell me a little about yourself. Including a picture would be awesome too!

The memory of Andrew M. Pease.

February 15, 2009

My husband’s cousin lost her husband tragically in a fatal robbery attack about a week ago. This weekend we went to his funeral services in Eureka, California. You can read a portion of his story here. It just is one of the saddest things. But in the midst of the sadness, and pain there was that ever warming silver lining. The community that Andrew was a part of in his hometown was amazing. They came out and filled the chapel with love. Their stories and memories of Andrew were compelling and their outpouring of love was apparent all day long.

Here are some of the shots I got from that day. May these images honor your memory Andrew. We love you!

And the winner is…

February 12, 2009

Mr. K is the winner of our new blog, new contest! I am so excited to let his parents (and everyone who voted for him) that he will be getting a 10page (20sides) little black book from our session. How exciting.

But wait, there’s more…. For all of those who participated who are now totally dissapointed that you are not getting a little black book from your session, I have a special gift for you too.

These little black books are normally $175, which is an awesome price for this album, but for each of the 13 sessions who were a part of this contest, you will have the opportunity to order one of these books for just $100! That is how excited I am about having these albums to offer. All you have to do is let me know by March 1, 2009 that you would like to order one and you will get this special price.

So here are a few more pictures from Mr. K’s session. He really is an adorable baby, wait he is almost a toddler. He turns 1 very very soon!

February 10, 2009

There is nothing like the smell of brand new baby. It just rips your heart out with love. And this little baby was as precious as she could be. I had so much fun hanging out with this adorable little family today. You might remember them from this blog post back in November. It was a joy to be with them that day and even more so today.

And I couldn’t leave out big sister. This is one awesome little girl. She is Princess Ariel, or wait is it Jasmin… or Belle, whoever it is she is one the best little princesses I have hung out with.

Here is your sneak peek. I will be in contact soon!

K. is a good friend of mine. In fact, her and her husband are some of my husband and my favorite people to hang out with. They are both the life of the party. So when she asked me if I would do some belly pictures for her, I jumped on the chance to capture these images.

We had a relaxing day followed by some awesome hawaiian pizza and a few laughs. Thanks for the day guys. But most of all thanks for your friendship! I can’t wait to meet little miss M. when she arrives.

Here is your sneak peak. It is a little larger than the usual ones for a few reasons. a. you are georgeous b. I couldn’t pick a favorite and c. a new bigger blog, new bigger sneak peaks.

It is that time of the year again. Where we show off our best and finest here at kristy lynn photography. These 13 images are from all the sessions since the last blog contest was held. These images are some of the best from our sessions. So take a gander at them. I know it will be tough to choose which one is the best, but please do because the winners of our contest are going to win a “little black book” from thier session (or a free future session if they wish).

I do ask that you honor the rules. There is a one vote per person per day rule. I hate to be a stickler, but I will disqualify any contender who has any sort of funny business associated with thier votes. Yeah, yuck, right? But I gotta get that out there. And if you wonder how I can tell, lets just say that in my previous life I was an international spy, or that I just have really awesome ip address trackers, you know, either one.

So here they are the images that you have to choose from… they are listed in no particular order at all.

In my camera bag.

February 4, 2009

I have recently figured out that you can never have enough camera equipment. There is always something that I will want, or need, or just find too darn nifty to pass up. I have a wish list as long as the day, but for now I am content and my husband is content not to spend any more either….

So I thought I would share with all of you what I shoot with.

One word. Canon. I love it. It is user friendly, it has a full frame sensor for a not crazy price. And in the end, Canon’s make me happy. I am such a Canon nerd that when I am watching TV and I see a DSLR I have to know what they are shooting with. Is it a Canon, a Nikon, a Sony… what the heck is it? Take CSI for example, what kind of cameras do the investigators shoot with. I honestly don’t know. The bodies look like Canons, but they are very careful never to show the brand name, it eats me up inside. I have to know.

So here is my Canon bag of tricks. It is simple, but for now it gets the job done.

1. An original 5d. I LOVE this baby. I would sleep with it but my dear husband really won’t let me. I seriously don’t know how I lived without it. Truly amazing camera.

2. A Canon 50mm f/1.4. Great lens. I loved it even more before I had a 5d and I had a cropped sensor. It is a nice sharp, everyday, walk around lens. And it doesn’t have the wicked far minimum focus distance that the next lens has.

3. A Canon 85mm f/1.8. I really do adore this lens. I think that it creates the most beautiful bokeh and just makes people look beautiful and creamy. It is amazing.

4. A Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L. This lens is possibly the best mid-range zoom lens that there is. It is a giant however, not as big as a 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS, which is a beast and is next on my shopping list.

So thanks for stopping by. Here is a picture of that which I love. I look at it and smile.
