This family is too cute. From the moment I walked in the door I was surrounded by feelings of love and fun and family. Miss K. was your typical 2 and a half year old. Very much in love with Thomas the train and very eager to share her play world with me. I believe we shared some fake bread with fake butter but the butter might have actually been cheese, I couldn’t tell. And little Mr. E was just not a fan of the tummy time but surprised the heck out of me when he proved that he could sit up all on his own at 6 months. That is an amazing feat little man!

Thanks so much T. family for letting me come over and hang out for a while. It was a pleasure to get to know you a little more and get to take your pictures. And Mommy E. if you ever want to help me with a what to wear guide, you would rock it (you picked out some adorable outfits for the family, kudos to you for that!!).

Here is your sneak peek, I will be in touch soon!

The kids have gone back to school. And we all let out a collective sigh of relief. HAHA. All kidding aside, fall is almost here. I woke up yesterday and I could seriously sense that chill in the air. I know it is early, maybe it is the eternal optimist in me. In fact I am such a weather optimist that each and ever winter winter I hope that it will big winter that produces the elusive Bay Area snow storm.

With fall right around the corner, the Holidays are not far behind that. This is the PERFECT time of the year for family portraits. The weather is AWESOME and it is just in time for holiday cards and gifts for family and friends. There are so many creative things that you can do with pictures now. From calendars to cards, from wall canvases to brag books, if you are starting to think about your holiday gift list you should consider getting your session on the calendar in the next couple of weeks.

October is looking pretty full for me with 3 weddings that month. I currently have 5 openings for portrait sessions (including families) in the whole month. Those will go FAST, so contact me today for your fall family session.

And to spur you on in your thinking because after deciding to do pictures the very next thought is, “what will we wear?” I have created this, “Fall What To Wear Guide.” This is just a start to your creativity. Shopping for family portraits can be a lot of fun. Bringing the different aspects of everyone’s personalities and the togetherness that indicates family can be a challenge but I suggest starting with a color combination going from there:

Email me at kristy@kristylynnphotography or call me at 925.305.0775 to set up your session. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Perfect for each other. There is not much more you can say about two people so destined to be married. Kristina and Eliot have been waiting for this day for 8 long years. When I asked Kristina how she was feeling, anxious, nervous, excited. Her response was, “it’s about time!” But with that wait came planning, and with the planning came intentionality, and with that intentionality came perfection.

From the elegant orchids that filled the Fountain Room of the San Ramon Community Center, to the hints of purple that accented the elegant black and white, to the awesome cake, no detail was left to chance. I was both amazing and impressed that this couple had such a beautiful affair for the recognition of the relationship that they knew in their hearts long before the perfect wedding day.

Eliot and Kristina, you two have been a blessing to get to know. Your day was a blast and I am beyond excited to show you your sneak peek. Enjoy the honeymoon and I will be in touch!

Little Miss C. looks so much like her big brother it is amazing. Her big brother and her mom were some of my first clients way back when I was first starting out almost a year ago. Here is a link to their blog posting, click here. Notice that the blog has changed a little since then too!

Anyway, Miss C was a glimmer in mommy’s eye back then, but today I had the privilege of getting to meet the newest little one. And my goodness I can see such a resemblance between them!

She was adorable today and a perfect sleeper once we got her all warm and snuggley. Thanks E. family for letting me come and hang out for a while today. I will be in touch soon!

It is getting to be that time of the year. I just saw Halloween stuff at Target yesterday. Unbelievable! And the Spirit Halloween stores are starting to pop up everywhere. Pretty soon the holiday Turkey shows will start on the Food Network. And Ole St. Nick will be the central figure at the shopping mall again. I know that seems insane when it is like 90 degrees outside but it comes faster than we can imagine. Every year I look at my husband Mid-November and wonder where the year went.

Custom holiday cards are a great way to send seasons greetings. Pictures of your family are a great holiday gift. I encourage you to start thinking about booking your holiday sessions now, before the schedule gets filled up. October session are limited because of a busy 4 wedding month for me. Holiday orders are due before November 10, 2009 to ensure an early December arrival of cards and prints. Canvas and albums take longer so keep that in mind as you are planning as well.

And for those who are looking to schedule a mini-session this might be the perfect thing for you:

So contact me soon to schedule your holiday sessions. I can’t wait to hear from you!

Yesterday was the quintessential summer Saturday. We spent the afternoon sitting around the baby pool in our friend’s back yard. We ordered pizza. And we just relaxed, ahhhhhh. But who can completely leave work behind (and by that I mean whipping out my camera for a few quick shots) when you are in the presence of one of the cutest almost 4 month olds ever!!!

You may remember baby M. from the blog about 4 months ago…

Well she is starting to grow up. She is rolling over, pushing up on her hands, and showing of a glowing personality. Her smiles warm the room completely! And seeing her grow is the perfect example why having pictures taken of your babies as they grow is a perfect way to capture all of their different stages.

Having taken these pictures of Miss M. I am introducing a new package to my services. It is called the Watch Me Grow package. Basically how it works is, you sign up for the package which includes 4 sessions over the course of baby’s first year (newborn within the first two weeks and your choice of three other sessions through the year, 3mo, 6mo, 9mo, and a one year session). For signing up for all of these sessions you get all four sessions and a 10×10 20 sided session album at the end with images from each session for a savings of $550 over the course of the year. This is a great deal!

Ok, enough business stuff, on to the pretty pictures of Miss M. Thanks W. family for being our friends and for letting me capture these memories of Miss M. as she grows. You guys rock!!

Their first dance was a beautiful cover of “At Last” by Etta James (played by the awesome band, The Cocktail Monkeys). And there is no end to the meaning behind that choice. Amy and Marv have been happily in love for a few years now and At Last they took the covenant of marriage. Amy hadn’t given up on love when she met Marv, but At Last she got the beautiful wedding she had dreamed about. And Marv was ready to take a chance again, and At Last Amy came along and won his heart.

It was an At Last moment for me as well. All my planning and preparation had somewhat prepared me, but At Last I got the awesome opportunity to be “The Wedding Photographer.” It seemed like dreams were coming true all over the Saratoga Country Club yesterday.

And as the day finished up, and Amy and Marv were saying their goodbyes for the evening, I went up to the two of them and was overwhelmed with emotion. First of all, because I just find it to be incredibly beautiful when two people promise to be side by side for eternity, but also because I truly could not have imagined a better couple to have shared both their and my At Last moments with.

Amy and Marv I wish for you countless years of happiness and joy. And I really can’t wait for the Giants game next year!!!

And a big shout out to my two fabulous assistants for the day. Shannon and Max (the hubs)! You guys were awesome and you made the day “flow”, so thanks!

Blessings,

Kristy Lynn

This little guy is so advanced. Really, he is! Normally I try and do my newborn sessions at two weeks or before. There is something about the way that a newborn sleeps. I think it might be because while in the womb they were shaken and stirred by walking and activity most of the day so they can sleep through most things while they are learning to get use to life in the real world. But even at two weeks old this little guy was having none of it. He resisted all of my sleepy tricks and his eyes popped open as soon as I thought I was just about to have, “the shot!”

But he was a trooper and he allowed us to get some really fun awake shots. I told you he was advanced, he had the alertness of a 4 week old. And that is just awesome!

Plus he is adorable, don’t you agree?
