September 4, 2009I don’t know if I could be more excited about this announcement. You may not know this but October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I have decided that over here at Kristy Lynn Photography we are going to take this cause to heart. Starting October 1 we are going to launch a big fundraiser for breast cancer research and education. I have a whole page on my blog dedicated to why I feel this is so important (click here) but it comes down to the need for more research and education to happen so that we can find a cure.
The bulk of our fund-raising efforts are going to be in our boudoir photography but anyone can participate! It may not be a huge contribution, but our goal is to raise $2500!!! Really even as I type that out I have a little heart skipping because it seems like a huge number to me. We can do it, but we are going to need your help! Here is what we have planned:
1. We are going to do a month long boudoir fundraiser that is explained in this flyer:
So get to booking your session. Well wait to October 1st, but get to thinking about booking your session. You can even gift a session to someone, this would be a great way for you men to participate. And if you can not do a session yourself you can definitely share this flyer with people who might want to book a session and/or know someone who might. 2. We are forming Team KLP for the Komen San Francisco Race for the Cure® on September 27, 2009. I have never done one of these and have ALWAYS wanted to. In fact I really hope and plan to do the three day walk next year. This short 5k will just be the warm-up I guess. HAHA.
There are a few ways you can help with the Race for the Cure. You can join Team KLP. We are going to do the untimed 5k walk, so there will be no racing. In fact we are going to bring the stroller along and probably just stroll, so you DO NOT need to be an athlete to join us. You just have to have a heart for the cause. The registration cost is $30 and we ask that you make a goal of $100 for your fund-raising for the walk. You will have to register before September 17 and if you have any questions email me at kristy@kristylynnphotography.com. Another way you can help is that you can gift our team with a support donation. Email me with any questions about that as well.
And finally, if you have made it this far I am incredibly grateful for being able to use my dream of being a photographer for the cause of breast cancer research and education. I am excited to join with other photographers and wedding professionals in the Pink Initative. And I am excited to see what we can do! $2,500 seems like a huge goal but wouldn’t be awesome if we could blow our goal out of the water!!

Sum, Sum, Summertime! San Francisco Photographer
June 2, 2009As the weather gets warmer and the days get longer doesn’t it seem like we get busier? I know it feels like that at the Franks’ household.
I wanted to give all my wonderful blog readers a quick update as far as availability goes for the summer. I currently have 2 sessions available in June and 4 in July. Between the end of July and the beginning of September I am crazy wedding girl with one about every other week, so that means that I have 3 sessions available in August as well. So, those dates will fill fast.
If you have a baby coming in the next few months and have been waiting to contact me about newborn photography drop me an email and we can start setting up the preliminary part of your session. And if you were hoping to schedule a family, kids, boudoir, engagement, or any other kind of session with me in the up coming months, lets get that on the schedule sooner rather than later.
And finally, its June, it is time to start thinking about Christmas Cards. Haha, you think I am kidding! I am not! I will begin designing my set of available cards later this month but you will want to start thinking about your Christmas card session sooner rather than later. I will be making more announcements about this in the coming weeks as well.

There is no day like today – my thoughts on the “recession”.
March 31, 2009I know you have heard it said, and it could be considered a cliche, but the powerful words, “there is no day like today” rings so very true during this time of cutting back in the American economy.
I have thought about it a lot. Our family, like any other, is going through our priorities and reevaluating what we consider important enough to invest our money into. Everyday new challenges are presented to us and we carefully consider how we will handle them in light of our own financial situations. So I know what it means when clients and friends say that they are trying to be wise when making decisions about photography.
However there is something unique about photography that is not true about a lot of our other expenditures. A lot of the things that we buy will be around tomorrow and next week and next year for us to buy. That new flat screen television will still be at Best Buy (given that Best Buy is still in business, lol!) next year. In fact if you wait you may even get a better model. And that new couch and loveseat set will still be at the furniture store next year or you may find one that you like even better for a better deal later this year.
But your children, and family will not be the same later this year. Your newborn baby will not be as small as he or she was the first 10 days of his or her life ever again. Your one or two year old will not be a toddler forever. You will not be pregnant 9 months from now with the child you are now carrying (THANK GOD, right?). And your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event. The exact make up of your family as it is today will never be the same. Kids grow, situations change, dad’s lose their hair… like it is said, there is no day like today.
So here is my point. When you are reevaluating your budget and choosing your priorities, please do not under estimate the value of having the moments of your life captured by a professional photographer. Your baby girl’s smile is priceless, get a tangible memory of that up on your wall as art. Your family is beautiful. And as many of our possessions are becoming less of a priority in this economic time, the value of family increases. Today is the day to turn your memories in to art.
And here is the deal. If you mention this blog post to me in an email and then you go on to book a full session with me before June 30, 2009, you will receive a $50 print credit for making your family’s memories a priority during these tough times. It is my challenge to you to make sure and treasure the moments of your life, and to let me be a part of capturing those moments.

It is super easy, just the address for this blog but instead of blog it is boudoir. Be careful though, if you are looking for the family, kids, and portrait blog then you want to make sure not to type in boudoir, that will get you somewhere very different.
The blog is where I will be sneak peeking my boudoir sessions, and making announcements. It will also be a place where women can feel empowered to live life beautiful. To enjoy being a woman and to realize the fullness of the beauty each woman possesses. Any one can participate in these sessions, they are not just about being sexy, they are about being a lady. They are about expressing oneself as a beautiful woman. And they are about realizing how HOT you really are! So take a look if you like…. I would love to schedule a session with you!
And since I am keeping it all pg over on the regular blog (the other one is nothing more than R rated, I promise!), I am going to entertain you today with a storyboard I created of my baby boy. Did you know that you can order custom storyboard from me after your session. These are a great way to get multiple images up on your wall in only one frame! Acutally you can even order them mounted and then they don’t need a frame at all!

The little black book
February 3, 2009Doesn’t every guy wish that they had a hot little black book? Doesn’t every girl wish that they were in someone’s little black book?
Well here is the answer to both of those desires. The kristy lynn photography “little black book.” It is little, and black, and hot. And it is a standard part of any boudoir package.
But don’t dismay, this album is not limited to just boudoir sessions, any session can be used to design a book just like this. In fact the sizes range from 5×5inches to 10×10inches. There are a variety of covers available and you can have up to 25 pages. Please inquire about pricing.

While he is away… | San Francisco Boudoir Photography
January 27, 2009The beautiful S’s husband is away at Army Training in Georgia. So what does she do? Does she sit around and mope, or sit and watch soap operas all day?
Heck no! She spends the day with me! Yay! And she gets some awesome reminders to send to her hubby on the east coast about all that he is missing out on over here in sunny California!
I couldn’t picked a better way to spend this afternoon, cracking jokes, laughing, and doing everything I could to show S. just how beautiful she really is!

Another boudoir teaser…
January 23, 2009I have finished editing my three sessions from Sunday. Five days of editing, with few breaks. It has been insane. I am glad for the editing break for about 24 hours, lol. 
So now that I am done I have new favorites. They are still tame, but they are darn sexy, if I don’t say so myself. What beautiful women they are, and I so lucky to have had such awesome models!
Celebrating Beautful!: San Francsico Bay Area Photographer
January 18, 2009Today I did a marathon. Not the 26 mile one, but the three shoots in one day style!
I had so much fun with three amazingly beautiful ladies. These are the tame shots. In the future there will be a spin off blog for posts like these, and until then I will keep it rated PG over here, .
So here is your sneak peak. I am having so much fun editing these, and the more I look at them I am amazed by the beauty of each of the, and the beauty of each and every woman. Now that is something to celebrate!
With Valentine’s day right around the corner, I know there are some of you girly girls looking for what to get your man! Well, I have the perfect answer for you.
A custom elegant boudoir session for you and the beautiful (dare I say sexy!) images of you, for him.
I am compiling a list of interested ladies for a weekend in January. I am going to rent a beautiful hotel room in the Walnut Creek area for the day. It is going to be just a lovely experience for you. The two potential dates are January 18 or 25, 2009.
Here are the details.
Your 1.5 hour session will include up to three wardrobe changes, all of your edited images on a CD, a 5×5 brag book album with all of your images and lots of little extras and surprises on the day of the marathon (a girl’s gotta have secrets!).
The cost for all of this is going to be $200. There will be an additional charge for parking.
Send me an email, letting me know which day works best for you. The session times will be 9:00am, 10:30am, 12:00pm, 1:30pm, and 3:00pm (this 3:00pm session will be on both Saturday and Sunday).
Wouldn’t it just be a great girls day out, if you got a bunch of your girls together and made a day of it. How fun!
