Excludes weddings, commercial photography, and any session that would be considered out of the ordinary. Email me at kristy@kristylynnphotography for more information.

Not only unbelievably gorgeous but also the sweetest girl ever. April just graduated from high school what probably feels to be minutes ago and asked me to document this milestone in her life. I jumped on the opportunity as I don’t get very many requests for this type of session (although I would LOVE to have more!!!).

So as I was saying, just graduated, and she is already taking college classes. Her mom said, “She signed up for her required Statistics course and had her first class yesterday.  LOVES her professor.  I think she is more motivated than I was at her age – at least, I remember sleeping in every day the summer after I graduated! I think she’ll be a great teacher!”

I couldn’t agree more. If I could pass out awards to my clients I think April would get two. 1. Most gorgeous senior of the class of 2009 and 2. Most likely to achieve amazing feats!

Congrats to you Miss April. I can’t wait to hear the awesome stories of your college years and the journey ahead. You’re future is bright.

And enough of the mushy lovey stuff, on to the pretty pictures…

I forgot to mention that she is a little bit hippie chick too, and that makes her way cooler!

Little known fact about me. I didn’t go to prom. Seriously. Not Junior Prom, not Senior Ball, I did go to the sophomore hop, but I think that was because it was 70’s themed and that was just fun. Anyways, back to why I didn’t go to prom. It wasn’t because I didn’t have a date, or because I was a social outcast. I was actually in a volleyball tournament at my Point Loma Nazarene University that weekend and about 90% was already at college in my head anyways, at the time it made a whole bunch more sense to go to PLNU for the weekend than party it up at Ball. Looking back, do I agree with my 18 year old self? Well I did until I saw how awesome this young lady and her date did and how much fun they were going to have. You all made me a little tad bit jealous.

Miss S. and Mr. J are the most adorable couple I have seen in a while. They have been dating all 4 years of high school, and that is like an eternity in adult years! I commend that type of commmitment! Anyway, they wanted some special images for the memories that they were making on this night, one of the culminating celebrations of their high school days ending. Mr. J is heading off to Gilroy to rock the football world and Miss. S staying close to home and going to school in San Francisco to study Law. Wow, it was like as I looked at these to I just saw “bright future” across their forheads.

Luckily that didn’t show on any of the pictures and they just looked awesome! Hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys and hope you had a blast at the prom (and yes, I am still a little jealous!)

I know you have heard it said, and it could be considered a cliche, but the powerful words, “there is no day like today” rings so very true during this time of cutting back in the American economy.

I have thought about it a lot. Our family, like any other, is going through our priorities and reevaluating what we consider important enough to invest our money into. Everyday new challenges are presented to us and we carefully consider how we will handle them in light of our own financial situations. So I know what it means when clients and friends say that they are trying to be wise when making decisions about photography.

However there is something unique about photography that is not true about a lot of our other expenditures. A lot of the things that we buy will be around tomorrow and next week and next year for us to buy. That new flat screen television will still be at Best Buy (given that Best Buy is still in business, lol!) next year. In fact if you wait you may even get a better model. And that new couch and loveseat set will still be at the furniture store next year or you may find one that you like even better for a better deal later this year.

But your children, and family will not be the same later this year. Your newborn baby will not be as small as he or she was the first 10 days of his or her life ever again. Your one or two year old will not be a toddler forever. You will not be pregnant 9 months from now with the child you are now carrying (THANK GOD, right?). And your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event. The exact make up of your family as it is today will never be the same. Kids grow, situations change, dad’s lose their hair… like it is said, there is no day like today.

So here is my point. When you are reevaluating your budget and choosing your priorities, please do not under estimate the value of having the moments of your life captured by a professional photographer. Your baby girl’s smile is priceless, get a tangible memory of that up on your wall as art. Your family is beautiful. And as many of our possessions are becoming less of a priority in this economic time, the value of family increases. Today is the day to turn your memories in to art.

And here is the deal. If you mention this blog post to me in an email and then you go on to book a full session with me before June 30, 2009, you will receive a $50 print credit for making your family’s memories a priority during these tough times. It is my challenge to you to make sure and treasure the moments of your life, and to let me be a part of capturing those moments.

And no blog post is complete without a pretty picture so here is another image from one of my recent newborn sessions. What a precious doll miss C. is!

Represent!

February 16, 2009

I am looking for some awesome soon to be high school seniors who want to be my ambassadors!

Everyone has seen the typical senior picture right? I remember mine. I wore one of those black wraps and had the cap and gown one. Oh, wait I think I even did one with the numbers ‘96. Oh, yeah that was creative. lol.

But in all seriousness when you are graduating from high school the images you create with your photographer should not only make you look AMAZING but they should be a true reflection of who you are.

So, here is what I am offering. I would like one or two representives from some of the surrounding highschools. I am specifically thinking of high schools in the Mt. Diablo, Walnut Creek, San Ramon/Tri-Valley, and Lamorinda areas. You will be a model for the day (and as a model, your session is free!) and then along with your print purchase (those are not free) you will receive REP cards (also free!) that you can use to pass out to your friends, to promote ME!

The best part of the deal for you is that for every person you “recruit” as a rep you will recieve a credit that can be cashed in at the end of the year as either more prints or as cold hard cash. Yeah thats right CASH in your pocket.

Interested or have questions, email me at kristy@kristylynnphotography.com by March 1, 2009. Tell me what high school you are going to graduate from and tell me a little about yourself. Including a picture would be awesome too!

Man is this girl lovely! And the insides most definitely match the outside. She is one of the sweetest girls. We took these at Civic Park and around downtown Walnut Creek. It was a beautiful day as you can see! Thanks for being game for my crazy ideas Kelly! You’re the best!
