Most people do a bunch of cleaning and reorganizing in the spring, “the spring clean!” Well I guess I am a little behind on the times because I am going to do a late summer/early fall reorganization, haha. So things are going to change a little around here.

I am going to be revamping my collections, adding some new products, and making things all around a little bit more awesome!

But in the meantime if you would like to lock in my current pricing just the way that it is make sure to email me in the next couple of weeks. My current pricing will be valid until August 15, 2009.

And as always, these posts are way better with a picture, so here is a pretty picture…

So not Cliché: San Francisco Engagement Photographer

When you live in one of the most undisputedly beautiful cities in the world (possibly even THE most beautiful) you often find that the central landmarks can become humdrum. The places that the rest of the world recognize as, “that IS San Francisco,” can become common place. And these locations are often thought of as Engagement session “clichés.” But yesterday, I got the awesome opportunity to go to two of these very places with Alexa and Kenny for their engagement session and I have got to say, it was anything but “cliché!”

We started our day at the Palace of Fine Arts. Recently renovated the scaffolding has been removed to reveal a gorgeous structure and an architectural masterpiece. The arches are grand, the grounds are gorgeous, and the light is phenomenal. But the real things that shined while we were there were Kenny and Alexa. There were about 12 (not kidding) other photographers roaming around the grounds looking for the perfect spot to get their shot. But in the midst of all of that, Kenny and Alexa effortlessly radiated love.

Alexa is a firecracker. Choosing San Diego for a new start after graduation. She closed her eyes and pointed to a spot on the map, her finger ended up on Bakersfield, but she thought better and went a little further southwest. Kenny was freshly finished with his time in the military and the two met. The fell in love, and five years later, we found ourselves talking about their wedding plans on Cape Cod (SO wish I was that wedding photographer!). And even talking a bit about what it will be like when the start a family.

We moved to Baker Beach. Again, often thought of where “everyone” does their engagement session. Heck, even my husband and I did ours there three years ago. But I have to say, with Alexa and Kenny, it felt fresh and new.

Alexa and Kenny, best of luck and tons of happiness as you begin your marriage. I am excited to hear about how it goes and see the pictures from it. And with our further ado, here is your sneak peek from yesterday!

My guy: San Francisco Photographer

June 17th, 2009

So I got a new prop, well, a new floor, ok to best describe it, it is a prop floor. Wood prop floor to be exact. And I love it. We have tile in the downstairs of our house and it is awesome for many reasons but hardwood floors are glorious in photographs. So I [...]

So I got a new prop, well, a new floor, ok to best describe it, it is a prop floor. Wood prop floor to be exact. And I love it. We have tile in the downstairs of our house and it is awesome for many reasons but hardwood floors are glorious in photographs. So I have to fake it. And just in case your home doesn’t have the perfect floors, I will be bringing my new fake floor to your house for our session as well, just in case. And at the very least we can mix it up too, use your floor sometimes, use my fake floor sometimes. Keep ‘em guessing.

So this thing had been on back order for 2.5 months. Talk about patience, I kept checking the site ever week and a half or so to see if it had shipped and finally when I had almost given up the UPS man dropped of a long skinny box, inside was my rolled up fake floor. I was ecstatic! I changed my little guy’s clothes and moved some furniture and rolled the glorious fake floor out and snapped a few shots of him and then I realized that he had turned 19 months the day before. YAY for 19 month pictures. lol!

Beautiful day for a wedding. San Francisco Wedding Photographer

April 20th, 2009

I am loving the weddings. I mean, I really love all my shoots but I LOVE weddings. Maybe it is the love that is so apparent all day long. Maybe it is the par-tay that goes on all day long. And maybe it is the fact that everyone is just radiant all day long (that [...]

I am loving the weddings. I mean, I really love all my shoots but I LOVE weddings. Maybe it is the love that is so apparent all day long. Maybe it is the par-tay that goes on all day long. And maybe it is the fact that everyone is just radiant all day long (that makes for some really awesome photography!). Whatever it is I gotta say, I am loving the opportunity to be a part of wedding days as a photographer.

I was second shooter for N. and E. this weekend. After six years of courtship they decided to make it official and have the two become one. And it was a beautiful day to do so. The first “real” day of spring, the high crept into the low 90′s for the day.

For the first time I got to experience what another photographer refers to as a “first look.” It is when a bride and groom greet each other for the first time before the ceremony begins. There are often many reasons for this to occur. Sometime it is cultural (like this time), sometimes it is for logistics (great photography), sometimes it is about having a private moment before the big, “I DO!”, and sometimes it is just about how the bride and groom want to do their day. What ever the reason it really does make for some great photography moments. So below when you see the side by side of the bride and groom, you got a glimpse of their, “first look,” and I promise you it is emotional and moving.

Thanks Fabian for letting me come along for N and E’s day. And thanks N. and E. for sharing one of the most important days of your life with me. Blessings to your future!

Pretty picture time…

I again have had the privileged to shoot with another amazing wedding photographer in the Bay Area. My amazing “boss” this time was Mr. Sam Hasass. It was a wonderful day of love and joy and just plain beauty.

The ladies got ready at the Rose Hotel in downtown Pleasanton. This is an awesome place to get ready and D. and R. had decided to greet each other before the ceremony, this is a great way to make sure that you get plenty of time for pictures!

And then we were off to the amazing Palm Event Center in Pleasanton California. Man is this one amazing place to have a wedding. Sam says that is is one of his favorites in the whole Bay Area, and while I haven’t seen them all, all of the others have a lot to live up to now. This place is BEAUTIFUL!!!

Enough of me talking, and on to the images from our day.

kristylynnphotography is very much in the very beginnings of its life. So far we have had so much fun taking pictures of our beautiful “models”. We want the fun to continue.

So here’s the deal. While we are still building a portfolio our session will be free (a $150 value!!). The prices will come into play sometime in early 2009. So jump on this deal! Along with that our prints are at a reduced rate while we are portfolio building. It really is a great deal for everyone. We get to add to our portfolio and you get some images of your family.

Any one can inquire. As you can see, children have been our main subject but engaged couples, moms and dads to be, families with teens and tweens, newborn babies (preferably before 2 weeks old)… all should think about getting some portraits done.

Dates are booking up fast. In fact don’t be surprised if we can’t schedule until November (although if you have a newborn we can always squeeze those in). And if you are interested in holiday pictures we are going to have to get you scheduled before November 20th. To ensure that we can get your prints and files to you in time for the holiday cards. :)

We look forward to hearing from you.

Blessings!
