When you live in one of the most undisputedly beautiful cities in the world (possibly even THE most beautiful) you often find that the central landmarks can become humdrum. The places that the rest of the world recognize as, “that IS San Francisco,” can become common place. And these locations are often thought of as Engagement session “clichés.” But yesterday, I got the awesome opportunity to go to two of these very places with Alexa and Kenny for their engagement session and I have got to say, it was anything but “cliché!”
We started our day at the Palace of Fine Arts. Recently renovated the scaffolding has been removed to reveal a gorgeous structure and an architectural masterpiece. The arches are grand, the grounds are gorgeous, and the light is phenomenal. But the real things that shined while we were there were Kenny and Alexa. There were about 12 (not kidding) other photographers roaming around the grounds looking for the perfect spot to get their shot. But in the midst of all of that, Kenny and Alexa effortlessly radiated love.
Alexa is a firecracker. Choosing San Diego for a new start after graduation. She closed her eyes and pointed to a spot on the map, her finger ended up on Bakersfield, but she thought better and went a little further southwest. Kenny was freshly finished with his time in the military and the two met. The fell in love, and five years later, we found ourselves talking about their wedding plans on Cape Cod (SO wish I was that wedding photographer!). And even talking a bit about what it will be like when the start a family.
We moved to Baker Beach. Again, often thought of where “everyone” does their engagement session. Heck, even my husband and I did ours there three years ago. But I have to say, with Alexa and Kenny, it felt fresh and new.
Alexa and Kenny, best of luck and tons of happiness as you begin your marriage. I am excited to hear about how it goes and see the pictures from it. And with our further ado, here is your sneak peek from yesterday!

Blessings,
Kristy Lynn
